Criminal Trial - R. v. Rathore & Petrozza
Following a complex investigation into a scheme that ultimately cost investors over $416 million, the criminal prosecution of Fortress Real Developments principals Jawad Rathore and Vince Petrozza began in October 2024. Due to the staggering enormity and scale of the overall fraud, the Crown strategically focused the trial on just two major developments: the Collier Centre in Barrie and SkyCity in Winnipeg. This targeted approach allowed the court to efficiently manage the vast mountain of evidence, culminating in a guilty verdict in May 2025 and the historic February 2026 sentencing by Justice D. Moore.
